Opened in November of 2008, the Bustle & Grind is home to an excellent selection of antiques, used books and gourmet coffees and is a great place to relax with a cup of coffee and a snack.

The antiques are largely an accumulation of years of collecting by the owners, Rudy and Jennifer Hornus.  The inventory is now supplemented by "great finds" at auctions, festivals and estate sales.  A nice selection of consignment pieces provide an even broader scope for the antiques shopper.

Some vintage books are available but most of the supply is an extension of the Alma Area Used Book Sale Group.  Proceeds from these sales go to scholarships to Gratiot County residents looking to continue their formal education.

Coffee is sold in bulk or by the cup.  More than 30 different gourmet coffees are offered in non-flavored, flavored and decaffeinated.  Other specialty drinks such as chai, tea, cappuccino and hot cocoa are available.  The wonderful aromas from the coffee are noticeable throughout the shop.

One of the more historic, interesting shops in town, The Bustle & Grind is decorated in keeping with the age of the building.  The area has served as Marsh's Market up until 1932, followed by Monroe Drugs, Dykeman's and then Aerhardt Drugs.  A short period as Rita's Hallmark and then the Ugly Mug Cafe and Deli soon followed.  Since 1873 this location has served the shoppers of St. Louis.

The Bustle & Grind is now part of the "Pets in Stores" group with its newest member Thomas Alva Eddison, a young Golden Retriever, who is the store's official greeter.
